Obscyra regularly submissions for its Summer Solstice, Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox and Autumn Equinox. The Solstices come in print and digital versions. The Equinoxes are exclusively digital.
*Importante Note: Obscyra does not accept any fine arts photography.
For Summer and Winter Solstice Editions, we choose contemporary artworks that are more inspired by surrealism, lowbrow or pop-surrealism, color-filled abstraction, abstract expressionism.
For Spring and Autumn Equinoxes, aside from the styles aforementioned, Obscyra also allows conceptual art, abstract, erotic art, dada, and conceptual arts as well as poems.
We do not charge nor do we compensate selected and featured artists and contributors for participating. Obscyra is a genuine supporter of the arts and our advocacy is to serve as an honest and unapologetic echochamber for the less-represented artists and writers.
What We’re Looking For In These Editions:
20-30 Visual artists aligned with the art styles mentioned above.
Raw, bold, and uncompromising artistic expression.
Artists who reject the sterile, the expected, and the overly institutionalized.
Special Feature: Artist Interviews
Aside from the 20-30 artists, 5 artists will be chosen for a feature laid out on two spreads.
This is an opportunity to share your artistic journey, inspirations, and insights with a broader audience.
What To Submit and How To Submit Works:
Follow instructions strictly. Entries not conforming with the instructions will automatically be deleted from our system:
Attach 3 Artwork Images with titles as filename, all not exceeding 10mb in total. (Do not send ZIPfiles, pdf, or links. Only jpgs and pngs are acceptable)
Attach a brief Artist Statement not exceeding 200 words. (Do not send ZIP or links)
Artist Photo not exceeding 5mb. (jpgs and and pngs are the only acceptable formats)
Email entry at info@obscyra.ch with the exact title “(Edition Name)-(Your Name)”. Example: Winter Solstice- Juan dela Cruz
